The Titan has been the least popular full-size pickup truck for a long time and now that the Toyota Tundra has been redesigned, it looks like the sales numbers could drop even more. That’s why Nissan engineers are already working on the next generation, according to rumors. Allegedly, the Japanese manufacturer will give Titan another shoot. The new generation will arrive in the next year, as the 2024 Nissan Titan, reports suggest.
From what we’ve learned from rumors and unofficial reports, the upcoming redesign probably won’t bring radical changes. Instead, we will see an evolution of the current design, particularly in terms of mechanics. The new model will continue to ride on the F-Alpha platform but on the other hand, it will come with new aesthetics, new interior design and most likely a new powertrain.
2024 Nissan Titan Redesign
As we’ve just mentioned, we don’t expect to see radical changes with this redesign. Instead, the 2024 Nissan Titan should be an evolution of the current design. This particularly refers to the mechanical aspect of the truck. The new model will continue to ride on the F-Alpha platform, just like the mid-size Frontier did. However, we have no doubt that the company will do some modifications to improve the ride quality, as well as the towing and payload capacity.
On the other hand, we count on completely new aesthetics. We count on a design that will follow the brand’s latest design language, particularly at the front. The rest of the truck shouldn’t bring bigger surprises, although we do expect to see a more muscular design.
Interior
Naturally, this redesign should also bring a completely new cabin design. At this point, the details are still unknown but we can expect changes in various aspects. First of all, we count on a more modern dashboard design, with nicer materials and more tech features. The build quality should be improved as well.
We expect to see the same cab styles on the offer. This means two styles, Kind and Crew Cab variants. Of course, this indicates two bed sizes as well, a 5-foot-7-inch or a 6-foot-7-inch bed.
2024 Nissan Titan Engines
This is certainly one of the most interesting aspects of the next-generation 2024 Nissan Titan. The current model uses a 5.6-liter V8 engine, which puts out around 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. It is a quite capable engine, but also a thirsty one, which means it will probably be replaced with something smaller and more efficient.
The first engine that comes to mind is the company’s new 3.8-liter V6, which debuted in the new Frontier. Allegedly, this engine will get a turbocharger, which will significantly increase the output, compared to 310 horses in the naturally-aspirated version of the engine.
The other possibility is to see Nissan using its well-known and proven 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine, which already powers a variety of Infiniti and Nissan Sports cars. This engine puts out around 400 horsepower, which seems plenty enough for a pickup like this. Some sources even speculate about electrification, in which this engine would get help from an electric motor, for a total output of 450 horsepower.
We also expect to see a new transmission, probably a 9-speed automatic.
2024 Nissan Titan Release Date and Price
The next-generation 2024 Nissan Titan is still waiting for official confirmation. However, unofficial reports suggest that this model could arrive already in the second half of the next year. We don’t believe that the new model could cost much more than the current one, which starts at around 39.000 dollars. Of course, models like Toyota Tundra and GMC Sierra will remain key competitors.
