2024 Chevy Silverado: Preview, Specs, EV

Chevy’s popular pickup truck has just been updated, which is a clear indicator that the current generation will remain in production for some more time. At this point, we know pretty much for sure that the 2024 Chevy Silverado will hit the market without bigger changes. We count on a familiar design and features, which make this model one of the best pickup trucks around.

However, this doesn’t mean that the next year won’t be big for Chevy and its pickup. The next year is expected to bring an all-electric version of the popular pickup. At this point, we know for sure that this model will bring some pretty advanced technologies and that it will offer respectable performance and range. At the same time, it will remain quite affordable, at least in its base versions.

We expect that the 2024 Chevy Silverado will hit the market sometime in the second half of the next year.

2024 Chevy Silverado Design

Design-wise, the 2024 Chevy Silverado will bring no bigger changes. The overall layout will remain the same as in the case of the initial version of this generation, which was introduced in 2019. The Silverado will continue with familiar mechanics, as well as with familiar styling, which may differ, depending on the trim level. The ZR2 will once again remain the best off-roader in the lineup, with various mechanical upgrades. Some of the highlights are features like a 2-inch suspension lift, high-performance Multimatic DSSV dampers, front and rear locking differentials, heavy-duty skid plates, and 33-inch mud-terrain tires.

On the other hand, the interior has just been updated. The new cabin looks way more attractive, thanks to much finer materials, new tech features and improved ergonomics. Therefore, we are pretty sure that the next year’s model won’t bring bigger changes.

The biggest novelty for the next year will be the introduction of the all-electric Silverado. That model will hit the market probably in the second half of 2023 and it will bring a completely new design approach, even though the styling will closely resemble the standard model.

Of course, the most interesting details will be those under the hood, where we are about t see GM’s new Ultium battery technology at full capacity. From what we know so far, there will be two variants of the truck regarding max output. Standard models will feature a max output of 510 horsepower, while a more powerful variant will be good for 664 horsepower. The max towing capacity will go around 10.000 pounds.

We expect to see a 200-kWh battery pack, which should ensure a max range of up to 400 miles. Also, count on fast charging, which will ensure 100 miles of range every 10 minutes.
