The current generation of RAM’s light-duty pickup has been around since 2019 and despite all the qualities, it looks like a mid-cycle refresh is on the way. Those are the latest reports we are getting about this amazing pickup. At this point, it’s still early to talk about the exact changes but we presume that the updates would mostly be about aesthetics. Furthermore, we would expect to see novelties on the inside as well, particularly in terms of some new tech and convenience features.
Despite the updates, the overall layout would remain the same. We would see a familiar layout, which has so many great things to offer. The RAM 1500 is super comfortable and easy to drive, while the capabilities are at the top level as well. Furthermore, there is a wide engine offer and a lot of customization options, so everyone can build a RAM 1500 in accordance with their preferences.
We expect that the 2023 RAM 1500 release date will be scheduled for the second half of the year.
2023 RAM 1500 Design
As we’ve just mentioned, there is a big chance to see a mid-cycle refresh. If that happens, we presume that the focus of this update would be the aesthetical aspect of the truck. In other words, we would see some styling changes, particularly at the front. The current model looks good but it would use a little bit more aggressive stance if we compare it with the competition. Therefore, we presume that this facelift would bring things like a more prominent grille, more aggressive bumper design and similar things. We would also expect to see things like new wheels, new color options and maybe also a new appearance package. The rest of the truck would remain the same.
On the other hand, we don’t expect to see changes in the mechanical aspect. Simply, the current model is pretty impressive in this aspect, particularly in terms of the chassis and suspension setup. It offers an excellent driving experience, particularly in terms of comfort, where this truck is way ahead of key competitors, such as the Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado.
Interior
If you look at the current cabin design, there is really nothing to complain about. It looks attractive, while things like materials and build quality are at a super-high level. That’s why we don’t expect to see any bigger changes in this aspect. Still, there’s always a chance to see minor updates, such as new color schemes and slight revisions to the center console.
The overall layout will certainly remain the same and the 2023 RAM 1500 will continue with familiar cab styles and bed sizes. Base models come with a little bit smaller Quad Cab style, while Crew Cab design is optional. Both offer enough room to accommodate adults comfortably.
Features
Novelties in this aspect are always possible. For example, the company could drop the small 5-inch infotainment screen and offer an 8.4-inch unit as standard. Still, we have no doubt that base models will remain bare-bones, with essential tech features only, such as a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, and USB ports. On the other hand, higher trims will be available with pretty much everything you could imagine. Some of the highlights would be things like a 12-inch touch screen, satellite radio, HD Radio, navigation, multiple upgraded stereo choices, additional USB ports, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, a dual-pane sunroof, dual-zone climate control etc.
The same thing is with safety features. Base models would come with a rearview camera only, while the list of options would be very long. Some of the highlights among optional features would be things like adaptive cruise control, surround-view camera, parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, head-up display etc.
2023 RAM 1500 Engines
Once again, we expect to see a broad range of powertrain options on the offer. Base models will continue with a familiar 3.6-liter V6 that puts out around 305 horsepower. The V8 offer will start with a 5.7-liter engine, which puts out around 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. Furthermore, the TRX will remain the most capable version, equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that puts out around 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Finally, there is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel, with a max output of 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque.
All engines come in pair with excellent 8-speed automatic transmission. When properly equipped, this pickup can tow up to 12,750 pounds and haul up to 2,300 pounds.
2023 RAM 1500 Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2023 RAM 1500 will hit the market sometime in the second half of the year, with a starting price of around 35.000 dollars.
