2023 Porsche Cayenne Facelift: Changes, Specs, Features

Praised for excellent handling, Porsche Cayenne has been the first choice of buyers who follow the expansion of the SUV body style but don’t want to sacrifice the level of athleticism that usually comes with sedans and coupes. That’s why this SUV has been an absolute leader in terms of SUV performance for a full two decades. The current generation is no exception. It’s been around since 2018 and despite the good sales numbers, the company feels that now is the right time for updates. That’s why the 2023 Porsche Cayenne is getting a facelift.

This will be a typical mid-cycle update. We are about to see changes in various aspects and the first thing that comes to mind is the styling. Besides exterior updates, the next year’s model will also come with novelties inside the cabin. On the other hand, we don’t expect to see changes under the hood.

2023 Porsche Cayenne Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the current generation has been around since 2018 and the 2023 Porsche Cayenne is about to bring some interesting updates. The test mule has already been spotted and from what we can see, there is a new, more prominent grille design, new air intakes, and a more sculpted hood. The rear end comes with more subtle changes, but still brings a new light bar that connects the taillights. Of course, we also count on updates in terms of new color options, new wheels etc.

Despite the updates, the overall design will remain the same. The 2023 Porsche Cayenne will continue to ride on a familiar MLB platform and share some parts with models like Audi Q8 or VW Touareg. However, the Cayenne stands out thanks to the excellent suspension setup, which provides class-leading athletics, but also a pretty smooth and comfortable ride.

Interior

The upcoming update will also bring novelties in terms of interior design. From what we can see in the spy shots, it seems that the new cabin will look notably different. We are about to see a new, digital instrument cluster, which will replace the current analog dials. Furthermore, the company will introduce a new infotainment screen, along with updated software. We also count on some changes on the center console, which would include some button reconfiguration, along with a new shifter.

On the other hand, the overall cabin design will remain the same. Despite the updates, the overall layout won’t change and you may count on the same amount of passenger space. The front seats are spacious, massive and supportive, while the second row also accommodates adults with ease. The cargo area offers around 27.2 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 60.3 cubic feet in total, which is a pretty good rating for a mid-size luxury SUV.

Features

These updates usually bring various novelties regarding the standard and available equipment. So, we expect nothing less from the 2023 Porsche Cayenne. The list of standard equipment will be expanded, though we still don’t know what would be the biggest updates in this aspect, especially if we consider that the current model already comes with a long list of standard and available equipment.

For reference, the current model comes standard with things like a 12.3-inch touch screen, navigation, a 10-speaker hi-fi stereo, dual-zone climate control, satellite radio, HD Radio, USB ports, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay. The list of available features, on the other hand, includes a panoramic sunroof, quad-zone climate control, a 14-speaker Bose stereo, a 21-speaker Burmester stereo, and a wireless device charging, and a rear-seat entertainment system.

 2023 Porsche Cayenne Engines

As we’ve just mentioned, the upcoming refresh shouldn’t bring bigger updates under the hood. Base models should carry on with a familiar 3.0-liter V6, which puts out 335 horsepower. The Cayenne S will carry on with Porsche’s legendary 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, which puts out 434 horsepower. The V8 offer starts with the GTS, which comes with a 4.0-liter V8 and 454 horsepower.

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo uses a tuned version of the V8 engine and features a max output of 542 horsepower. Finally, there is the Turbo GT version, with 631 horsepower.

Also, there are two hybrid versions on the offer. The first one is based on a  3.0-liter V6 engine and features a max output of 455 horsepower. On the other hand, the Turbo S E-Hybrid is based on the V8 engine and features a max output of 670 horsepower.

All units come coupled with 8-speed automatic transmission.
