2023 Lexus LM: Review, Specs, Features

In North America, minivans are usually seen as family hauliers, practical but not particularly interesting vehicles with the main task to get a lot of people from point A to point B. In some parts of the world, minivans are much more than that. They do the same job traditional saloons do, so don’t be surprised when you see that the 2023 Lexus LM features a six-figure price. It is a super-luxurious minivan, which does the job that models like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class would normally do in most parts of the world. This minivan is primarily designed for China and selected Asian markets.

There are so many things to like about this minivan and most of that goes to the cabin design and comfortable ride. This minivan is generous in every aspect and it puts back passengers in focus, with beautifully shaped seats, a generous passenger room and a full load of tech and convenicne features. On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle rather relies on Toyota’s proven design solutions.

2023 Lexus LM Design

When you look at the 2023 Lexus LM, you will see a familiar design approach. Although a minivan, the LM features a dynamic design, characterized by many interesting design solutions. One of the things we like is the front end, which looks very similar to Lexus’ contemporary sedans and SUVs. The whole vehicle is full of interesting, pretty courageous aesthetical solutions, so it’s no wonder that the LM looks like nothing else on the market.

On the other hand, the mechanical aspect is rather familiar. This model rides on Toyota’s previous-generation MC platform and shares most of the parts with the model called Toyota Alphard. Still, the LM comes with a little bit more advanced suspension setup, which provides superior ride quality, even though the Alphard is already pretty impressive in this aspect.

Interior

The 2023 Lexus LM will continue in two variants regarding cabin layout. You can pick a three-row version, which features seven seats and a pretty impressive level of luxury. Still, the real deal comes with the four-seat version, which represents the ultimate level of luxury. In this case, you get an impressive level of luxury, which is capitalized with a massive 26-inch screen that separates the front from the second row of seats.

Of course, the seats are impressive. You get a couple of super-comfortable and nicely-shaped captain’s chairs, which come with an impressive amount of legroom. The front seats are slightly less exquisite but still very impressive. The whole cabin features impressive build quality and super-find materials, pretty much on par with ultra-luxury sedans and similar vehicles.

2023 Lexus LM Engines

The engine offer largely depends on the market. In China, the main choice is a good-old 3.5-liter V6 engine, the same that powers the outgoing RX, which puts out slightly under 300 horsepower. It comes in pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission and provides pretty impressive driving dynamics. With 267 pound-feet of torque, it is also pretty capable when fully loaded with passengers and cargo.

In some other markets, such as Indonesia, this luxurious minivan is available with a hybrid powertrain. It uses a familiar system, based on a 2.5-liter inline-four engine, with a total output of 197 horsepower. Of course, this system comes coupled with Toyota’s well-known and super-reliable e-CVT gearbox.

In some parts of the world, you can also find a version with a 2.5-liter inline-four with 177 horsepower.
