Jeep’s pickup truck has been around for a while and if we can trust rumors, there is a chance to see some pretty notable updates for the next year. More precisely, this could be a mid-cycle refresh, which would bring a lot of new things in various aspects. We would probably see a few styling tweaks and more standard equipment. However, the biggest novelty would probably be a new powertrain option, with the plug-in hybrid setup. At this point, the officials are still quiet, so take the following paragraphs with a reserve.
Whether this update happens or not, the overall layout will remain the same. Interior
When it comes to interior design, we don’t expect that many things could change in the next year. Simply, the current cabin looks good and, more importantly, it is quite functional. Of course, it takes inspiration from the Wrangler SUV and the dashboard looks largely the same. It is well-designed and comes with quality materials. Also, higher trim levels come with a lot of tech features, which make everything look even more attractive.
The 2023 Jeep Gladiator will continue with just one cab layout on the offer. Of course, we are talking about the crew cab design, which comes with a couple of pretty spacious and comfortable rows of seats. Both of them accommodate adults with ease, while the driver’s seat also offers a pretty good seating position.
Features
If the company is about to do a mid-cycle refresh, we have no doubt that the 2023 Jeep Gladiator will come with some interesting novelties regarding standard equipment. Still, we presume that base versions will remain bare-bones, with essentials only. The current base model comes with manual windows and door locks, a 5-inch touch screen, satellite radio, eight speakers, Bluetooth, and two USB ports etc. Convenience features are available in more expensive variants, and you can get goodies like automatic climate control, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, proximity keyless entry, and remote start, as well as tech goodies like 7- and 8.4-inch touch screens, a navigation system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HD Radio, and nine speakers.
When it comes to safety, all models should come standard with a rearview camera, while things like rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a forward-facing camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights should be offered as options.
2023 Jeep Gladiator Engines
The addition of a new powertrain option is the biggest possible change that’s about to come with this rumored refresh. Allegedly, the 2023 Jeep Gladiator could come with a plug-in hybrid version on the offer. This model would probably feature the same setup as the new Wrangler 4xe, which combines a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine with an electric motor, for a pretty respectable max output of around 375 horsepower. Besides plenty of power, this version would also offer around 20 miles of the all-electric range.
The rest of the lineup would remain the same. So, base models would continue with a 3.6-liter V6, which puts out 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. There is also a diesel version, which comes with a 3.0-liter V6 unit that puts out around 260 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.
Both engines come in pair with 8-speed automatic transmission, while the gasoline model can also come in a combination with a 6-speed manual.
2023 Jeep Gladiator Release Date and Price
We expect to see the 2023 Jeep Gladiator sometime in the second half of 2022, with a starting price of around 35.000 dollars. Key competitors will be models like Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, Chevy Colorado etc.
