The current generation of Honda’s minivan has been around for a while but if we consider the last year’s facelift, it’s pretty much for sure it will remain in production for a few more years. The 2022 model came with just a couple of updates, so we might expect the same from the 2023 Honda Odyssey. Without any doubt, this will be a typical carryover model.
In other words, you may count on familiar design characteristics. This minivan still has a lot of great things to offer, starting from the high interior quality and spacious cabin. Furthermore, the list of standard and available equipment is pretty long, while the refined V6 engine ensures a smooth and comfortable ride. Of course, the Odyssey isn’t without flaws. One of them is the infotainment system, which is a little bit tricky to use. Also, we don’t like the fact that you have to remove the second-row seats physically in order to get maximum cargo space.
As there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2023 Honda Odyssey will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2022.
2023 Honda Odyssey Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Honda Odyssey should be a typical carryover model. The 2021 update has brought a lot of new things, starting from the new styling. So, we are pretty sure that the next year’s model will come with minor tweaks only, just like the 2022 model did. To remind you, this year’s Odyssey came with one new color option, while the vacuum cleaner option was discontinued. Other than that, things remained the same.
The same thing goes for mechanics. Not many things have changed since the launch of the current generation but that’s not an issue at all. Simply, the chassis and suspension setup are really good, which reflects in pretty comfortable ride quality.
Interior
On the inside, the 2023 Honda Odyssey will continue with one of the nicest cabins in the class. Despite the age, the current model looks fresh and modern. Moreover, soft-touch materials are all around the cabin, while the build quality is pretty impressive too.
Of course, the Odyssey comes with three rows of seats and all three of them accommodate adults with ease. Also, the seats are massive and supportive, especially the front ones. We also like the driving position, whether it’s about ergonomics or outward visibility.
The cargo capacity is good. You may count on 38.6 cubic feet of space behind the third row, up to 92.3 cubic feet behind the second row, and up to 158 cubic feet of total cargo volume. While those great numbers, the main issue is the fact that the second row doesn’t fold flat, so it has to be physically removed to reach full cargo capacity.
Features
New standard features are possible here and there but we are pretty sure that the 2023 Honda Odyssey will remain mostly the same in this aspect. So, all models should come standard with goodies like automatic climate control, push-button start, a 5-inch infotainment display, two USB ports, Bluetooth, and a seven-speaker stereo. Fortunately, higher trim levels are much more generous with features. You can get upgrades like tri-zone climate control, moonroof, keyless entry, remote start, an 8-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless device charging, navigation, additional USB ports, an 11-speaker stereo, satellite radio, and HD Radio.
When it comes to safety features, all models should come standard with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, rearview camera, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams and more.
2023 Honda Odyssey Engine
Things under the hood definitely won’t change. The 2023 Honda Odyssey will continue in the same way, featuring the well-known 3.5-liter V6, which is capable and pretty refined. It features a max output of around 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, which is enough to ensure a convenient ride and decent performance. The engine comes in pair with a 10-speed automatic, which is smooth and always selects the right gear.
The ride is smooth and convenient, while fuel economy is typical for the class. In numbers, that would be around 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. If you plan to use this minivan for towing, keep in mind that a properly equipped Odyssey can tow up to 3.500 pounds.
2023 Honda Odyssey Release Date and Price
We believe that the 2023 Honda Odyssey will arrive sometime in the last quarter of 2022. Since there are no bigger changes to come, we presume that the price will remain the same as well. The current model starts at around 33.500 dollars. When it comes to the competition, the first names that come to mind are Toyota Sienna and Chrysler Pacifica.
