These days, we can find a lot of reports that suggest a full redesign of Ford’s Super Duty series for the next year. Considering that the current generation has been around since 2017, this sounds quite likely. Among the models that are about to receive a complete redesign is the 2023 Ford F-350, of course.
At this point, we don’t know much about this redesign. The test mule has been spotted on the road, but it’s still early to talk about details, especially if we consider that the mule still wears a camouflage. Big novelties are expected on the inside as well, while some sources also speculate about the electrification. The officials are still quiet.
Although it’s still early for a more precise date, we expect that the 2023 Ford F-350 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2023 Ford F-350 Redesign
Without any doubt, this redesign will bring a lot of novelties. However, we don’t expect to see any radical changes. Instead, we expect to see an evolution of the previous design, just like in the case of the recently redesigned F-150. In other words, the chassis and the overall design will once again be relying on the technology that utilizes aluminum and other lightweight materials, while even proportions are expected to remain pretty similar to the current generation.
When it comes to the styling, it’s still early to talk about details, as the test mule still wears a camouflage. Still, we expect to see new aesthetics, similar to the light-duty sibling. Most of the changes will come to the front end, while the rear should bring a couple of new things as well. On the other hand, the overall shape and proportions will remain pretty similar to the current model.
Of course, the upcoming redesign will also bring new interior design. We expect a lot of influence from the F-150’s cabin, which brought significant improvement compared to the previous generation. The new model looks way more upscale, thanks to the use of finer materials and better quality. Furthermore, there are more attractive aesthetics, which all promise a higher level of comfort and better driving experience.
Furthermore, we count on lots of new tech features. At this point, we can’t say if the 2023 Ford F-350 is about to come with the same massive infotainment screen, but we have no doubt it will be significantly bigger compared to the current one. Also, we can hear a lot about the Blue Cruise technology, which should be implemented into this pickup as well. This technology will allow semi-autonomous, hands-free driving.
2023 Ford F-350 Engines
As we already mentioned, many sources speculate about the electrifications. At this point, it’s hard to talk about details but we are pretty sure we won’t see the same hybrid system we can see in models like Ford Explorer. Simply, there are some technical limitations with this setup, particularly in terms of transmission. Therefore, we would rather expect to see the electrification of some of the Super Duty’s current units.
We believe that the current engine options will be offered in the new model as well. Therefore, base models should carry on with a 6.2-liter V8, which currently puts out 370 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. There is also a new 7.3-liter unit that puts out around 430 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Finally, there is a diesel version, equipped with a 6.7-liter V8, with a max output of 475 horsepower and 1.050 pound-feet of torque. We presume that each of these engines will come with a slight power boost.
2023 Ford F-350 Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2023 Ford F-350 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 40.000 dollars. The key rivals, Ram 3500 and Silverado 3500HD are expected to receive a mid-cycle refresh for the next year.
