The current generation has been around for a couple of years and it is still fresh for more important updates. That’s why we are about to see the 2022 RAM 3500 coming without more important changes. It will continue with the same design and features, offering familiar driving characteristics and level of capabilities.
All in all, you may count on a pickup truck that has so many things to offer. This versatile machine offers excellent capabilities and at the same time, offers unparalleled ride quality and comfort in the class. Also, we like the engines, while the offer includes all kinds of versions and a wide range of customization options.
Since there are no bigger changes to come, we presume that the 2022 RAM 3500 will hit the market sometime late in the year, without bigger price changes.
2022 RAM 3500 Engines
The engine lineup will remain the same for the next year. That means you may count on three familiar powertrains. Base models will continue with a good-old 6.4-liter V8 HEMI engine, which puts out around 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes in pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which does a fantastic job. With this engine, you may count on the max towing capacity of more than 18.000 pounds.
There is also a well-known 6.7-liter inline-six turbodiesel, which comes in pair with a 6-speed Aisin automatic transmission. The standard version of the engine features a max output of 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque. You can also get a more powerful version, which puts out around 400 horsepower and 1.075 pound-feet of torque. With this one, you may count on class-leading towing ratings, which go over 37.000 pounds in some variants.
2022 RAM 3500 Design
Design-wise, the 2022 RAM 3500 shouldn’t change too much. We are about to see a familiar layout, based on the standard 1500 model but upgraded with a much sturdier suspension setup and more muscular design. We don’t expect bigger updates for the next year, though minor tweaks like new color options and appearance packages are always possible.
The same thing is with the interior design, which will remain the same. Simply, the current model already features the nicest cabin design in the segment, characterized by nice aesthetics, premium materials and excellent build quality.
Of course, you may also count on familiar configurations. Three cab styles will be available – Regular Cab, Crew Cab and Mega Cab. There are also two familiar bed sizes on the offer – a 6.4-foot box and a longer 8-foot box.
Trim Levels and Features
The 2022 RAM 3500 could come with a couple of new things on the list of standard equipment but we have no doubt that the base trim level organization will remain the same.
So, the well-known Tradesman moniker will remain reserved for the most basic version. This trim comes with pretty basic features, such as steel wheels, manual accessories, vinyl seats etc. However, there are also few tech goodies like a 5-inch touchscreen, rearview camera, Bluetooth, cruise control etc.
The Big Horn is next in the line, with several notable upgrades. Some of the highlights are chrome details, power windows and door locks, cloth upholstery etc.
Many drivers prefer the mid-range Lariat. This model comes standard with goodies like leather upholstery, 8.4-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, power-adjustable seats and pedals, dual-zone climate control, satellite radio, parking sensors, LED headlights, aluminum wheels etc.
The Longhorn adds a couple of additional features, such as bucket seats with premium upholstery, ventilated seats, navigation, Wi-Fi hotspot, cargo bed LED lighting etc.
Finally, there is the Limited trim, which adds 20-inch wheels, power running boards, real wood interior trim, 12-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert etc.
