2022 Lincoln Navigator Is Getting Mid-Cycle Refresh!

The new Cadillac Escalade is here, better than ever. Logically, the next thing we expect to see is Lincoln’s response, which will come in the form of Navigator’s facelift. The next year is about to bring a lot of changes to this model, even though the overall layout is about to remain the same. From what we know so far, this will be a typical mid-cycle update. This means that the focus will be on styling updates, but novelties will come on the inside as well. Furthermore, there is even a chance to see changes under the hood. Unfortunately, we won’t see a V8 option but there is a chance to see a hybrid version in the offer.

On the other side, the overall layout will remain unchanged. You may count on the same overall design, which makes this SUV one of the most desirable models in the class, thanks to its stylish look, luxurious interior and great ride quality. All these things come in a combination with a spacious and practical cabin, so it’s pretty hard to find any bigger complaint. The 2022 Lincoln Navigator will only make things even better.

2022 Lincoln Navigator Facelift

Of course, most of this update will be about styling. We are about to see a new look, which should keep the current generation fresh for a few more years. At this point, the details are still unavailable. The testing model still wears a camouflage on both ends, so we may expect novelties in these areas. When it comes to the front end, we count on slightly revised headlights, as well as on a new grille and lower fascia. Of course, the bumper should come with a new shape as well.

The rear end probably won’t come with such massive changes but few tweaks to taillights and rear bumper will certainly come. Moreover, the tailgate could come revised as well, just like the exhaust pipes. Also, we count on typical updates for mid-cycle refreshes, such as new wheels, new color options etc.

Interior

Changes on the inside will come as well. From what we can see on spy shots, there is a new touchscreen, much bigger than the current 10-inch unit. Interestingly, it will be horizontally positioned, compared to the updated Expedition, which is about to get a vertically oriented infotainment screen.

Considering that the 2022 Lincoln Navigator will continue to feature a tablet-like touchscreen, it won’t affect the look of the rest of the dashboard, which should continue in the same way, with a classic design and super-fine materials. Of course, novelties in terms of materials and color schemes are always welcome.

The seating configuration will certainly remain the same. The new model will continue with three spacious rows of seats, which accommodate eight adults with ease. Besides plenty of passenger room, there is also plenty of cargo space. Standard models offer up to 103 cubic feet, while the long-wheelbase version offers more than 120 inches of total cargo volume.

Features

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2022 Lincoln Navigator will get a new infotainment screen. A couple of more tech goodies could be added to the list of standard equipment as well, though we have to say that the current model already stands pretty good in this aspect. It comes standard with things like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hot spot, navigation, 14 speakers, satellite radio, six USB ports, wireless device charging, tri-zone climate control etc.

Of course, the potential additions to the list of standard equipped should be looked for on the current list of options, which includes goodies like a panoramic sunroof, 20-speaker premium audio system, rear-seat entertainment system etc.

2022 Lincoln Navigator Engine

The current V6 engine will remain in the offer for the 2022 Lincoln Navigator without any changes. So, you may count on a familiar 3.5-liter V6, which puts out around 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque and comes in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

On the other side, some reports speculate about the possibility to see a hybrid version in the offer. That model would use the same system as the new F-150, which means a 3.5-liter engine in a combination with electric motors, for a total output of 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. At this point, the officials are still quiet about this powertrain in Navigator.

2022 Lincoln Navigator Release Date and Price

The 2022 Lincoln Navigator is expected to hit the market sometime late in the year and we don’t expect to see bigger changes in terms of the price. The current model starts at around 77.000 dollars. Of course, the Escalade will remain the key competitors. Still, keep in mind that the Grand Wagoneer is coming back, while the next-generation Lexus LX will come in a year or two.
