Also, we like that this SUV comes in two body styles and numerous accessories, which makes it great for customization. Four-door models are also pretty spacious and offer plenty of room for passengers and cargo.
For the next year, we don’t expect to see any significant updates, though things like new color options and visual packages are always possible.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Design
In terms of base design characteristics, the 2022 Jeep Wrangler definitely won’t bring any particular change. This SUV sticks to the tradition and offers a genuine BoF layout, which ensures excellent chassis rigidity and plenty of potential for off-roading. Also, it comes in two body styles in the offer. Base models come with two doors and feature 96.8 inches in wheelbase, which makes it perfect for off-roading. On the other side, the four-door model will once again come as the 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and it will feature a much longer wheelbase, which goes over 118 inches between the axles.
For the next year, the best we could see are minor updates like the new 2022 Jeep Wrangler colors. Also, keep in mind that Jeep frequently launches special editions of this SUV, which are basically new visual packages. We saw two such models for the 2021 model year, called Islander and 80th Anniversary special editions.
Interior
This aspect definitely won’t bring any notable change. What we like about this cabin is a great combination of conventional dashboard design and numerous modern touches. That’s something that makes this SUV pretty unique and we have no doubt that the 2022 Jeep Wrangler interior will continue in the same way.
Once again, you may count on two familiar body styles in the offer. Base models come with two doors and just 96.8 inches in wheelbase. Obviously, there isn’t much space on the inside. So, if you’re looking for a spacious Wrangler, you should go for the four-door model. This one is good for about 118.5 inches in wheelbase, which is enough for two very spacious rows of seats. Furthermore, you may also count on about 31.7 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 72.4 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.
Features
We presume that the list of standard and available equipment will remain pretty much the same as for the current model. So, the standard model should remain pretty basic, with features like a 5-inch touch screen, an eight-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, USB port, manual windows and door locks, push-button start, a removable soft top with sunroof, and three 12-volt outlets. On the other side, the list of available features will be pretty long. It should include goodies like a forward-facing off-road camera, power windows and locks, air conditioning, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, remote start, navigation, 7- and 8.4-inch touch screens, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, satellite radio, HD Radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hot spot, additional USB ports etc.
A good thing to know is that you can get a lot of advanced safety features. Some of the highlights are things like blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Engines
Things under the hood should remain the same, even though we are hearing some rumors about the 2022 Jeep Wrangler Electric. Whether this happens or not, base models will continue with a good-old 3.6-liter V6, which puts out around 285 horsepower. There is also an optional 270-horsepower turbo-four, which features more torque and offers better fuel economy. A 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel is the next one on the offer. It puts out around 260 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.
The 2021 model came with two big novelties in terms of powertrain. One of them is the plug-in hybrid version, which uses a combination of turbo-four engines and two electric motors, for a total output of 375 horsepower. The other one is the V8 version. Considering that it features 6.4 liters in displacement, it will come as the 2022 Jeep Wrangler 392 for the next year. The max output goes around 470 horsepower.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Release Date and Price
When it comes to the 2022 Jeep Wrangler release date, we expect it will be scheduled for the last quarter of the year. 2-Door models should start at around 29.000 dollars, while the 4-door model should be available at 32.000 dollars.
