2021 Lincoln Mark LT: The Latest Rumors

The truck market is getting pretty crazy these days, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see something like the 2021 Lincoln Mark LT Pickup Truck comeback. Truck lovers remember very well the original Mark LT, which was in production for just three years. Even though sales weren’t that impressive, the second generation was introduced, but only in Mexico.

In any case, bringing back this model makes a lot of sense. If you look at the current truck market, these models aren’t just working mules anymore. There are several range-topping versions that look pretty luxurious in terms of styling, interior quality and a number of features. So, why wouldn’t we just put premium badges on them, as they already cost a real fortune.

The 2021 Lincoln Mark LT Pickup Truck might come in such a way, but there is not a small number of those who believe that the new model would rather come with a more unique design, based on the legendary Navigator SUV. In both cases, one thing about this truck would be certain, it would be extremely luxurious.

2021 Lincoln Mark LT Pickup Truck Design

As we’ve just mentioned, there are two possible ways for the 2021 Lincoln Mark LT Pickup Truck, if the Blue Oval company is about to offer it. So, we will give you a quick elaboration of each design approach.

F-150-Based Design

This was the case with the original Mark LT, so it may be with the new 2021 Lincoln Mark LT Pickup Truck as well. If you look at the current generation of the world’s most popular pickup truck, there are some pretty luxurious models in the offer, such as Limited or Platinum, which feel premium in nearly every aspect.

So, Lincoln’s iteration would probably utilize a new front face, based on the brand’s latest design language. Furthermore, we would see upgrades in terms of interior quality, while the mechanical aspect would remain pretty much the same. The latter is particularly interesting, considering that the next generation is just around the corner, so the 2021 Lincoln Mark LT Pickup Truck would be a completely new-generation vehicle.

This would be the easiest way to make a new Mark LT, but also the way that brings one issue. That would be the price, considering that the premium badge would add a couple of thousands, which wouldn’t make too much sense in the eyes of traditional truck buyers, who already pay high prices for better equipped Ford models.

Navigator-Based Design

The other option is to see a Navigator-based design. In this case, we would see Ford would do the same thing GM was doing with Chevy Avalanche in the past. The wheelbase would remain the same as in the luxury SUV (long-wheelbase version), while the styling would have most things in common as well. The front part of the vehicle would look nearly identical. On the other side, the rear end would come in a typical pickup layout, where the third row of seats and cargo area would be replaced with a decently-sized cargo bed. In terms of mechanics, the biggest benefit would be in terms of the suspension setup, considering that the Navigator is pretty sophisticated in this case. It comes standard with an independent rear suspension, which has a highly positive effect on comfort, handling and overall ride quality.

Still, the biggest benefit from the Navigator-based design would be the interior design, without any doubt. Instead of a trucky F-150-like dashboard layout, we would rather see the Navigator’s sleek and far more appealing dash, which utilizes high-quality materials and comes with way more tech features.

2021 Lincoln Mark LT Pickup Truck Engine

No matter the design approach, we would expect to see the same engine under the hood. Of course, we are talking about a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, which would feature a max output of 450 horsepower in this case. Naturally, it would come coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission and the overall performances would be fantastic for sure. At this point, it doesn’t make too much sense to talk about fuel economy, but we presume that the ratings would be similar to the Navigator SUV, which returns around 16 mpg in the city and around 22 mpg on the highway.

When it comes to working capabilities, we don’t expect bigger improvements compared to the Navigator, which can tow up to 8.700 pounds, when properly equipped.

2021 Lincoln Mark LT Pickup Truck Release Date and Price

At this point, it is still early to talk about these things, considering that the officials are still quiet on this matter. Still, some sources suggest that the new model could come already in the last quarter of this year. We suggest you take this with a big reserve. When it comes to the price, we won’t make estimations at this point.
